Chris Hewett facing fitness race

22 Jul 2013

Saturday Skipper Chris Hewett is facing a race against time to be fit for the Aldenham Tour of Devon.

The left arm bowler was struck by a football playing in a 5 a side match for his team "Hewett's Chewits FC" 6 weeks ago and was rushed to hospital in obvious distress. X-Rays showed he had suffered a minor fracture of the Scaphoid bone in his right wrist and was initially given a recovery time frame of 4-5 weeks as he was issued with a removable support.

In the time Chewy would usually occupy himself playing sports he has had to find other ways to keep himself entertained. Unfortunately his preferred activity has required extensive use of his injured wrist and this has had an adverse affect on his recovery, much to the chagrin of the Aldenham medical staff and his team mates to the extent of which he has been fitted with a plaster cast.

It is hoped that between the roughness of the cast against the skin and David Cameron's new pornography blocking legislation, Chris will be fit in time to take to the tour on the field as opposed to offering encouragement from the sidelines.
