Match report Aldenham CC Dominate Kings Langley CC with a Commanding Victory

Kings Langley, Hertfordshire – May 24, 2025 – Aldenham Cricket Club showcased a dominant performance today, securing a resounding 233-run victory over Kings Langley Cricket Club in the Hertfordshire Premier Cricket League, at Kings Langley's home ground. Aldenham's formidable batting display set the tone, posting a massive total that proved insurmountable for the home side.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Aldenham CC got off to a blistering start. Openers Dush and Robin laid a solid foundation, with scores of 55 and 30 respectively. With Dush out to an LBW, Pavan stepped out to build on his amazing form or recent weeks to score a quick fire 127 well-supported by Peiman (35) and later contributions from Ali Hamza (11) and an aggressive 31 from Majid facing the aggressive bowling of the 15 year old Evie drafted in late from the girls colts side.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Aldenham's batsmen maintained a healthy scoring rate throughout their innings, eventually reaching a formidable 330 for 5 wickets in their allotted 40 overs. Kings Langley's bowlers found it tough to contain the flow of runs, with Nafraz being their most successful bowler with 2 wickets, and Davis also claiming 2 wickets.

Chasing a daunting target of 331, Kings Langley CC's innings never truly got going. They struggled to build partnerships and faced disciplined bowling from Aldenham. Openers D. Bartram (8) and S. Davies (10) fell early, putting pressure on the middle order. While Barton offered some resistance with 33 runs, and Smith contributed 15, the rest of the batting lineup faltered against Aldenham's strong bowling attack.

Aldenham's bowlers shared the spoils, with Sheiky leading the charge with an excellent spell, bagging 3 wickets for just 24 runs. His destructive bowling ripped through the Kings Langley top batting order, ensuring no significant partnerships could form. Ally and Khurram also contributed with 3 & 1. Kings Langley CC were eventually bowled out for a mere 97 runs in 27.2 overs, succumbing to Aldenham's comprehensive performance.

This commanding victory sees Aldenham CC secure valuable points at the top of the Hertfordshire Premier Cricket League, demonstrating their strong form early in the season.
