Match report
The afternoon started well, weather set fine, nice breeze to keep cool, and Itty did his thing and proved he was the better tosser.

Result!

ACC batting first.

Hurrah!

In walked the youthful pair of Chairman and umpire Guna. Combined age - a youthful 117. With promises of an opening stand to match, Simon set off on a clean single, leaving Guna on strike. A tactical mistake straight away, by the chairman, as Guna was immediately sent back, clean bowled first ball. Oh dear. Not a good start for ACC.

In walked Dush, confidently striding out into the middle. He and Chairman soon got the scoreboard moving, but Dush played a shot too far, and ACC were reduced to 36-2

In strode Pavan, and after praying to the Sun god, repeatedly, he then set about taking apart the opposition. The scoreboard was not just moving, but sprinting along. Sadly Chairman was dismissed to a corker, in the process, allowing Fahim to join Pavan.

Now the scoreboard was just a blur, with Pavan and Fahim scoring at will. One handed fours and sixes became standard fare.

Then Itty made the mistake at drinks of joking to Pavan that he had two over left to get his 100, and he promptly got out 4 balls later for 70 off 28!

Rohan came and went, the same way as Guna, but Jnyan, then picked up the gauntlet and he and Fahim put on 116 for the 6th wicket in 16 overs, when Fahim was out caught on the boundary for a superb 87.

Jnyan then continued with the tail, which wagged and got ACC to a total of 301/8 without Itty having to “wield his weapon….” Supporters on the day will remain eternally grateful for that.

After the break, ACC started slowly and Fulmer quickly got the scoreboard moving, but in the 5th over Adam struck and ACC were in the game.

However that success was short lived and despite some fabulous fielding, the runs continued to flow for Fulmer with a partnership of 85 for the 2nd wicket taking them to 123/2 in the 17th over deservedly off the bowling off Fahim. Well on target.

That precipitated wickets at regular intervals leaving Fulmer at 227/5 in the 31st over, with some good bowling from Fahim, Pavan, Jnyan and debutant Dylan.

Sadly that was the high point of the day for ACC.

Despite continuing fielding excellence from ACC, including umpire Guna possibly dislocating his shoulder, dropping a catch off Dylan, but refusing to go off, and then stopping a ball with his gonads as he couldn’t move his arm, combined with decent bowling all round, the 6th wicket partnership, took Fulmer home with 3 overs to spare.

As ever a great day in the parish, despite the loss.

MOM Fahim for a super knock and then taking 2/45, which could have easily been more, if chances had gone to hand.
