Match report Dush continued his fine form of captaincy this year and led the Sunday side to their second straight win with another strong team performance. After losing the toss, we were sent in to bat on what could best be described as a Sunday league football outfield.

Ubaid was unfortunately dismissed early, but a solid partnership between Maj and Pavan helped stabilize the innings. Pavan continued his fine form with the bat, notching up his second 50+ score of the season. However, wickets fell in quick succession before Peiman arrived at the crease, making an immediate impact by dispatching his first ball for four.

My personal campaign for the “duck cup” remains on course, but the momentum swung back in our favour with a superb 95-run partnership between Peiman and Deepak. This effort took us to a strong total of 211-5 at the end of our innings.

After a well-earned and lengthy lunch, we returned to the field with Barry and Sheikhy opening the bowling. Early breakthroughs set the tone, with Barry being on a Hat-Trick ball but not delivering when needed. Sheikhy also recovered from an expensive over against their No.4 to claim his wicket in the very next, courtesy of a sharp catch from Peiman.

Peiman was outstanding behind the stumps, taking three catches, including a brilliant one-hander. The fielding effort included some fine catches — although a few drops kept things lively — but overall it was a great day at the office.

A special mention must go to Pranav, who took his first two wickets for the club and also held on to a nice catch in the field.
