Match report Brentham 246-8 40 overs.
ACC 161 all out from 33 overs

So the start of the 2022 season took the A's to West London for a great fixture between 2 fine teams, a stern message from the team selector on meet time 11.30 prompt for a 12pm start and the promise of teas provided were less than true. A late message from fixt sec," bring your own teas" and the majority turned up around 11.20 only to find a coaching session for the " children, they are our future" happening all over the pitch, the game thus starting at around 12.30pm.
We were put in the field by the Skipper, welcome back Baz, and opened up with a very spritely 52 yr old from the bottom end and Sheik Dog from the other, some tidy bowling from both but no breakthrough, bad luck Ebay it was a tough chance (cough) ,next on to wreak havoc, the pimp and the pony, with two completely different styles of bowling and Jumbo managed the breakthrough to dislodge one of the openers for a mere 24, unfortunately the other hung around for nearly the entire innings before a direct throw from Ebay, keen to repair the damage from earlier and the batter went for just 124, some fast bowling from the skipper demolished the other batters ( batsmen!!) With his 1st 5fer for the season. Well bowled indeed, the pimp also got in the wickets with a 2-36 and Cal Taylor with a 1-24 so by the end we were quite, I say quite pleased with the total.

Teas found in bags or at the food fair, the A's went about their business in usual fashion. Chairman and the lame pony started us off with some lusty blows from Levers and some good defensive play from Simon before Hale was cleaned up, just 89 short of his 100. There followed the ,I'm afraid the usual flurry of wickets with nobody really making much of a dent. The Brigadier who on the day had been demoted to Colonel by the Skipper proceeded to show what a Colonel could do and promptly played on for a Golden. Never mind Matt, it was a lovely long sleeve jumper your Mum made...
However the ship needed steadying and thankfully Skip and Pimp came to the rescue. Scoring 40 and 46 respectively to put us within a chance of changing the result. Sadly business as usual put paid to that idea.
A good 1st Sunday game. Plenty to improve on, bowling was good, fielding could've been better. Batting practice required for many ,Far too many extras, could we get a beer crate for Itty to sit on especially if he's doing a double?
Roll on next weekend.
