Match report “Where is Karan Barot”- The long awaited match report of that history making game (for all the wrong reasons) of UCS Old Boys vs. A.C.C.
Venue: Somewhere in London near Brent Cross

Slaquey won the toss and decided to field first given our strong blistering seam attack which would inevitably run riot and we would be home nice and early for Line of Duty. On went the whites, and jumpers all round to fight off the fierce blizzard.

Levers opened up down the hill and bowled some tidy stuff, with just the odd ball being in the slot to get smashed to the boundary. Don’t bowl there MAN. Levers was his own critic at one point, with a scream of “Fuck me what a ball”. I am sure it was Levers!!. At the other end was ACC’s specialist seam bowler Ebay, AKA the booster, AKA Click and Collect, causing all sorts of issues for both batsmen. Both bowlers completed their full allocation of overs with figures of 7-0-42-1 and 7-1-19-2 respectively.

The batsmen were looking comfortable so Slaquey turned to a first change duo who would make an instant impact. Incomes Matty Anson and Callum Taylor, CT. Shoutout to CT who was playing his third every cricket match and looks an absolute natural. There were doubts on CT’s body fitness after bowling a lovely 11 ball over the day before however these doubts were demolished with a tidy 5 over spell of 5-0-34-0. It was Matty Anson who was the wicket taker of the first spell pairing, taking 2-52 off his 6 overs. With two drops off his bowling, a very unlucky day at the office.

DKD, and the Bass were the other bowlers on show with figures of 7-0-45-0 and 3-0-30-0. The fielding on show during my 7 over spell was absolute top notch stuff. If anyone wants a tutorial of a long barrier where the ball can still manage to go underneath your legs, I am sure the Saudi Prince SDL would be keen to offer his assistance…. A full 7 over spell for DKD really rolling back the years; was ready to watch our top tier batsmen chase this hefty total of 240 down with ease. Especially with our star batsmen K Barot at number 4… oh wait

SDL and Sacho opened up for the A’s with the Saudi Prince being bowled for a 3 ball duck. QUACK QUACK. Sacho “it could be you next” scraped together a nervous 14 (which he would continue to remind P Money was the top score for the A’s throughout the innings). Sacho obviously misheard the captain and believed we were playing a timed game as he scored the 14 off 42 deliveries? Matt Anson joined Simon for a roast Duck after being bowled by Syee. AJ joined sacho at the crease and played well for his 13 before being stumped. Ebay “Click and Collect” scored 4 before being caught.

CT ensured there was a third space (rule of 6 was at trouble here) at the table of the Roast Duck before being stumped for 0. DKD went into the crease after this and scored 12 before being bowled by the off spinner. Before this, DKD showed Sacho how you played the shot back over the bowlers head which sailed to 4; how did yours go Sacho ;). Mike Bass, Levers and Slaquey were the last three to the crease with scores of 7*, 11 and 1 respectively.

A day to forget for the A’s with more practice needed. Onto the next weekend!!!!
