Match report A beautiful day to tackle the free spirits of New Calypsonians as the sun shone and a perfect temperature. Charlie Munroe tossed up and chose to field first. James Bazeley and Amit Chakrawarti opened the bowling. New Calypsonians got off to a good start with Patel and Smith putting on a few runs before James bowled Smith who was caught behind by Itty for 11. Atherley then walks onto the field, two balls later he's off the pitch for a solid 0! Caught behind by Charlie also off James’ bowling. Amit then took 2 in very quick succession, one caught by the wonderful Danny Morgan and the second, just two balls later scattered Vince Farley’s stumps!! Tim Hale then comes on from the bottom end and bowls a short but useful spell. Charlie Munroe also comes on, but coming down the hill rather than up it. He bowled a nice spell for 21 off 4 overs. At this point Patel powers through and gets his 50, until Tim comes back on from the top end and gets Patel's wicket with a caught behind taken by Itty. Tim then goes on to get a further 3 wickets, one LBW, another bowled and his final one being caught at deep mid off by Amit.

While this is going on Richard Doughty is on at the other end bowling very tidily with figures, from 7 overs for 26. James then comes back on at the top end and grabs the wicket of Griffiths after being hit for 3 4's in a row... very expensive, but the catch behind from Chris Munroe was a beauty. Finally with one more wicket to get, Richard comes back on for his last over and with his 4th ball gets it, with another catch from Itty. New Calypsonians finish on 187.

After a very delicious curry match tea, New Calypsonians went out onto the field with our opening batsmen Chris Munroe and Alan Mills. They both put in a good effort against some demon bowler from Rafique and Walter. Chris managed to put 16 on the board while Alan reached 10 before he was caught by a brilliant catch at long off, off Rafique's bowling. Itty comes in and is bowled after 2 balls for 0 by Rafique. Danny Morgan is next and knocks 8 runs about until he is also bowled, once again by Rafique. Sach Sanghui then comes on to join Steven Seymour. Steven is then bowled once again by Rafique for 2 runs. Charlie Munroe replaces him joining Sach at the crease to try and establish some order amongst the batting chaos that had occurred. Sach is going very nicely and creates a starts to build a small partnership with Charlie of about 23 runs, until Charlie is caught off Shah's bowling. Amit then enters the fray but disappointingly very soon leaves it for 1 run. Tim Hale, obviously feeling pretty confident after his 4 wickets, comes on. Sach and Tim then build a brilliant partnership of around 45 and bring our total to about 135.

Sach then makes a bad call and is run out on 30, but very well batted. James then joins Tim who is on a roll at this point. Tim then pats one back and is caught and bowled by Vince, but finishes his innings on a great score of 43 runs. Richard the joins James. We are a good 40 runs short of the New Calypsonians total and without reducing that gap further Richard is then caught and bowled for 0.

The match ends, Aldenham having amassed a total of 145 all out. Man of the Match went to Tim Hale for a brilliant 4 wicket 2nd spell, and his strong batting performance of 43 runs, very well done.
