Match report On what seemed to be the warmest and most pleasant day of the year several of the Saturday players were still complaining about the questionable decision to call off the game against West Herts V (which drops the parish to second in the league) everyone was looking forward to a game against real opposition. After waiting seemingly ages for the opposition captain to arrive, and even longer for Kuran, the A's elected to bat and were greeted at the wicket by a very strong bowling attack. While everyone was hoping for a harder game than the day before, the first few overs didn't go to plan with Itty walking back to the pavilion on 4, leaving no2 Sanghvi joined by no3 Watfa to face some very pacey out swing. Even in form Tan couldn't deal with the tall opening bowler and was dismissed for the first duck of the afternoon. Chris Munroe joined Sach at the crease who was next to be dismissed for 16, which against this bowling attack was more impressive than it looked on paper. Hensman was next to the wicket to face what was beginning to look like a famous Aldenham collapse as Minty Munroe was the fourth fall victim, this time to the in swinger who was equally tall. Seemingly in form Barot was confident as ever was eager to try his new shot "the tap" for the first and probably last time as it got him out for a duck. The Rustler came in at no7 while the A's were only on 41 and with Hensman managed to slow the game down before both being dismissed for 9 and 23 respectively. Dan Morgan and Charlie Munroe were the next two to try and put a respectable score on the board and together managed to get a total of 57 between them with some huge boundaries from Big Dan and fast singles from Char, which worked Dan harder than he had for many many years. The pair were dismissed with Morgan leading the way before Charlie came in shortly after. This left Dan knight and Wardy to face the wrath of the openers coming back on before Ward was walking back as the third duck of the innings, leaving Dan knight with 9 NO.

A second great tea from Sach was followed by what needed to be a quality innings from the Parish, opened by Char and Dan Knight, who after a tea with no fresh fruit had his first over hit for 6 consecutive 4's. All jokes aside this was down to a big swinging batsmen as whatever Knight threw at him, was still hit big. With 70 off the first 7 overs, both Dans had had a go on the bowling attack before Wardy came on to find a breakthrough in his first over as the ball was looped up to be caught by Hensman. This caused a collapse in the batting order with Charlie Munroe finding the perfect ball which managed to claim 4 of the next 7 wickets, the other 3 coming as catches again to Munroe who seemed to be on fire and was clawing us back into the game. Though it seemed to be too little too late as after scoring high in the first few overs, the Tossers were able to sit back and pick their shots carefully which meant they were able to chase down Aldenham with plenty of overs to spare.

While the result was not ideal, I think all parishioners apart from Kuran were happier than on Saturday.
