Match report With poor weather in the area but a weakened bowling attack, Aldenham decided to break the formula of the past two weeks by inviting the opposition to bowl in order to maximise chances of a result.

Aldenham opened up with batting hero Charlie Munroe from the top end and Dan Knight from the bottom. Neither could manage a break through as the A's plans were seemingly faltering at the first hurdle.

Skipper Nic turned to Plan B which saw Kuzza brought into the attack and he soon dealt with both openers who'd seen Leverstock into the 60's. At this point, Nic flew through the now cracked open threshold with a hugely impressive spell of sustained pressure. He bowled 5 overs, 4 of which were maidens and took two further wickets, eventually finishing 8 overs, 4 maidens, 2 wickets for 5 runs conceded.

Out of options to fill the remaining overs, Nic turned to the ever youthful Tanios. With flight and guile betraying his formative years, even tactically managing to bowl a couple of no balls to keep the perplexed Leverstock Green batsmen playing the guessing game, Watfa managed to take 2-25 from his eight overs as Levy green were restricted to 121-8 off their 40.

Simon and Sachin opened up for the A's following a refueling of Mr Gregg's finest sandwich platters and set about chasing down the modest total before the rain came.

Both of them set off like a FGW service to Newton Abbott, however the rain began to get too heavy. Eventually it became clear that play would have to stop and the regulation 71 minutes were observed before the rain won the game. The Aldenham players were left to head to the bar for the FA cup final and a long night on the beers.
