Aldenham Cricket Club Aldenham Cricket Club v Bushey on Sun 28 Sep 2014 at 1230
Aldenham Cricket Club Lost by 63 runs

Match report A confident Aldenham side looking to finish the season on a high fielded first with the double D's blowing the mind of the openers when the 2 Dans picking up a wicket each. When Chewitt finally turned up he got a bowl but was wicketless so it was up to 'Watfa wannabe no knee Munroe' to deceive some of Busheys middle order with a delicious slower ball celebrating Cantona-esk. Giving everybody a game skipper Chris Munroe thought it would be best if he got a bowl spreading the field and let loose a variety of deliveries luckily having his role model brother digging him out of a hole when the standard full toss was thrown down, hiked out to cow, definetly going for 6 but pace of the family Char throw himself up to latch onto the grenade ending with high 5s all round. A decent ball or 2 in that spell did occur I must say before I get beaten up. Barot at the other end also was part of the wicket taking club but only to be taken off by a fragile looking Ward. Looking for confidence, he toiled away only to be let down by what seemed everybody (which didn't help his confidence) getting nowhere being reminded on every occasion it could only get better :)
Jerry mopped up the tail with a cheeky 2fer to end Busheys innings on 200-9.
A Standard Itty 3 ball innings started quickly but ended soon after to bring MOM contender Char getting almost a run a ball 30 top scoring but getting out to a 12 year old didn't help anybody. Lee at the other end was going along nicely and was joined by '1 drop' Robin but their stand of 13 ended when the Pirate was just getting into a rhythm and was caught. Padded up for the 2nd time in 2 days a less than confident Wardy strolled out to the crease new bat in hand. 1st ball...leave, 2nd ball....leave....confidence building perhaps? 3rd ball....wrapped on the pads and the day is over for Mikey securing the duck cup quite convincingly to make sure he wins something this year!!!! Theres always next year mate :)
Russler was next to go for 7 leaving the A's with the tail needing the wag entering 20 overs Aldenham having 90-5 on the board. The 2 Chris's and Danny M came and went for Mr Barot to save the day again? Maybe having already completed his 1000 runs for the season on the previous day his head wasn't quite where it needed to be booming a 6 over the sight screen only to replicate the shot but the outcome was straight down Long offs throat ending the home sides chances of winning. Knight Junior stuck around for about 5 overs only to be let down by his father having tried to cut a straight ball and obviously missing ending the game. A well spirited game ended with a long night in the bar reminiscing about the previous 5 months. BRING ON 2015!!!
