Match report A memorable knock from Basil Letts who stole the headlines telling all those doubters he was back. An innings that accelerated throughout ending on 142 not out having watched his father run himself out, 3 of the top order playing across straight deliveries and a patient over played by Itty 'it only takes 1 ball' Haque but of course he was caught 'going for it' a ball later. However, a mature partnership with James Bazeley gave the hosts a defendable 231-7 declaring 15 minutes earlier than expected.

A Morgan munch was enjoyed by all until the Wayfarers opening over went for 14 so all players and spectators realised that a decent game was on the cards. James Bazeley was doing well bowling up the hill only for all pressure created being diminished by Char 'fielding specialist but not a lot else anymore' Munroe bowling some long hops and leg wide dross but somehow picking up a wicket in the process. The enforcer Letts was introduced )looking like he knew what he was doing with the ball at last) restricted the top order winning the match with ease. Sub Karan 'i'll only field if I get a bowl Char' Barot dropped the first chance of the game blaming the non facing batsmen, the sun and probably an ant crawling on the scoreboard which deflated the fielding side so it was only expected when Bazeley, Munroe senior and Glover all following suit soon after. The ball was thrown to Village cricketing veteran Morgan, who was threatening and aggressive throughout but bowled well in tandem with Sub Barot mixing things up at the other end. A helpful rain delay stopped any momentum the batting side created by middle order Buckfield knock but a controversial run out (not given) gave him a well deserved 58 but couldn't kick on thanks to a decent catch from Itty 'my back, legs and feet all hurt' Haque and the odd shout from Jerry 'I'll stay in the kitchen' Knight gave the hosts a deserved draw after Man of the Match Basil 'I don't pitch the ball up even though we need 2 wickets' Letts bowled the last over.
