Match report A bad start from the hosts ended in the wall that is Michael Man of the Match Ward saving the batting embarrassment from most of his upper order having their chase of 229 vanish before their eyes. A good spirited game between old opponents bathed in sunshine, the visitors got off to a good start batting first with a good but brief spell from skipper Charlie Munroe and an even briefer spell from Chris 'take a blow' Hewett...keep loose for later! The experience of Danny 'moving onto cream' Morgan was economical as always and was thankful for Chris 'turns up when he likes' Munroe having snatched onto a regulation catch to get the hosts onto the board. Aldenham, looking to rip through the top order of Weston were struggling to focus due to the speculation of why their lower/middle order batsman had turned up on time but then let his team mates down by taking care of a 'off the field' problem. Itty 'have a day off from the kids' Haque showed his commitment to his team mates by filling in taking 1 and a half catches from spin twins (quite literally) Michael Ward and Chris 'is this Ward still' Munroe giving Westons middle order some fodder runs!!!!
Another Letts tea had the hosts refuelled for the chase of 229 only to find the chairmans opening partner Sachin 'in front of all 3' Sanghvi reinacting his father in laws walk back to the pavilion just a day before and he is probably still apologising for...if he isn't...he should be! An extended Itty Haque innings was accompanied by Matt 'give the 9 year old a wicket' Bazeley was comprehensively removed by the future of Herts Cricket....remember the name Elliot Beard!!!!! A few cameos from the middle order came and went and ended with Chris 'no reason for a Man of the Match vote' Hewett and Michael 'get past me if you dare' Ward playing out for the draw leaving a disgruntled Pete Munroe waiting in the wings if needed.
