Match report A familiar start for skipper Charlie Munroe losing the toss and again being grilled by his team mates asking why do we have to field in this heat?!
The temperature was only about to rise seeing Tim Hales first 2 overs going for at least 20 and was replaced by economic Danny Morgan who looked to wet the apatite but fortunately for everybody concerned was one step ahead having taken adequate measures before hand. On came 2nd highest wicket taker this season Mikey 'always changes the momentum of a game' Ward who tested most areas of the dusty pitch picking up a 2fer but probably should have been 3fer #plumb. Char Munroe luckily wasn't driving today so decided to help the Social Club with 2 well deserved Aspalls Jugs (other alcoholic drinks are also available)with a 5 wicket haul and 3 catches, 1 of those off a tail demolishing spell from Jerry 'take 1 in the shin instead of attempting to catch it' Knight.
Another Jo Letts tea was greatfully appreciated by all and gave Matt Bazeley all the energy he needed smashing a faultless (apart from the 3 drops) man of the match winning innings having watch an averagely poor innings from Tanios 'I want that Presidents award' Watfa and Dan 'Im not an opener or a quick thinking fielder' Knight previously. However, all was not lost when Michael 'Im happy to abuse people and not really play cricket' Glover decided to swing from the hip and finished 3rd highest scorer telling everybody he could just how impressive he thought he played. Aldenham needing 140 off about 17 overs surley were in no trouble at all when in form Danny Morgan came to the wicket but obviously the big man had other ideas using the whole of his willow and was reluctant to endure any more of his innings finishing on 12. A dull finish to the game with Char trying to end the game by losing the ball in shenley (missing a straight one), Tim (shocking 2 ball duck) and a somewhat passionate Mikey Ward throwing anything and everything in all directions of the pavilion having placed his 2nd ball in the bowlers hands. Fortunatley, it was a thriving in pain Jerry Knight who had to see the finish of a well spirited game from the non strikers end.
