Match report ON an absolute road, yet again skip Char was in the minority deciding to bat first with allegedly with a strong batting line up. With the man in form Danny Morgan in at 9 (feeling very upset as he was gagging for a bat) sat and watched another slow start but maybe chuckling as son Basil raised the figure on Chairman Simon Letts as he planted his front leg in front of all 3 stumps all be it about 3 yards down the track. New Boy Jimbo Newton showed some promise as he batted well with top scorer Karan Barot who put on a patient stand ending with the debutant missing a straight ball. Barot soon followed with a man of the match winning poor short to mid wicket leaving his team in disarray. Fortunately, Matt 'should have been man of the match' Bazeley smashed the Long Maston attack to all parts reaching a superb 50 supported well by Chris Munroe and Danny Morgan.
Aldenham took to the field protected a 30 run under par 197 all out were horrified to field through a 15 over pummelling 120-1 and were all looking towards skipper Char all thinking 'why arn't we batting in the 2nd innings?'
A top quality spell from Richard 'Il turn up 20 mins late and think it's okay' Doughty and Karan 'il bowl how I like' Barot left the hosts needing 20 runs off 5 overs with just 1 wicket in hand. Lusty blows from Long Marston number 11 left the visitors somewhat disappointed having to watch a roller coaster match fall through our figures.
