The announcement that Julian Knight is set to hang up his boots after the first weekend of the season was met with great sadness by most at Aldenham. A 25 year spell at the Home of Cricket was sparkling, almost as much as the dishes Jerry has volunteered to wash over the years without so much as a complaint.

The news was met with howls of derision from most at Aldenham and indeed an "I want to play cricket with Jerry Knight" movement has been founded by club stalwart Colin Hewett who has promised to organise T-Shirts in an attempt to convince Jerry to reconsider. An assortment of nicely coloured t-shirts may just do the trick, with Jerry recently admitting that his current favourite item of clothing was a shirt acquired on Danny Morgan's stag weekend to Caister.
