Come hence and listen forth for great tidings of great joy I do bring as I foretell of the coming of yet another summer………..
However, before you get to play any cricket there is hard work required to prepare the ground, pavilion, wickets and surrounding area for the coming season.
So please put Sat 9 Apr in your diary for the Annual Pre-Season Works Party.
Starting from 09.30hrs there will be lots to do so please make yourselves available.
You will all be aware that we have made the monumental decision to enter the Herts Saracens League. There are lots of rules and regulations associated with playing League cricket – Limit on Bowlers, Start Times, Point Scoring process, submission of scores etc etc. Our first league fixture is at home on 7 May. Sat Skip is attending the League Captain’s meeting on 25th Apr to get a final pre-season brief on rules, match format etc.
To that end and to ensure that you all understand the Rules and Regulations before the season gets underway please also put the evening of:
Thurs 28 Apr – meet at 20.00hrs – Aldenham Social Club.
Please make every effort to attend both events – if you want to play quality cricket you need a quality venue – that requires time and effort to get the ground ready for the season and if you want to enjoy and progress in League cricket – that requires you to know the rules.
Maximum attendance please and why not bring a friend and introduce them to the club.
