Apart from 1 abortive season in the late 80’s I hadn’t played a match since the late 70’s. However, thanks to meeting up with old school chum & ACC’s ‘ledge’ Dave Bickley in 99, found myself drawn in. This year will be my 20th season. Best seasons so far have been 2005/6 & a committed 500 run 2011.
Well that's it, done my time. Had plenty of rest in the Covid hit season 2020, managed to play a game on tour & a handful more but alas with much diminished usefulness, the left knee near replacement time. You gotta know when to quit.
It's been a blast tho', never thought i'd play again after i left school in 77 so to be able to restart @ the age of 39, contribute 6000 runs & be a foil for much more talented ACC heroes has been a pleasure. See you @ the bar sometime folks!
