Match report As the biggest game in the history of the Parish approached the whole club was on tenderhooks! Would the second greatest player ever to play for Aldenham be fit for the game. 9.58am Saturday Morning the news was dealt that Kuz had failed his intense fitness test and we were down to 10. Thankfully the Chairman came to the Parish's aide "I won't see the Parish short!" Only issue was that Simon wouldn't make the start. So with an average of 0 when not opening we were hoping to field first.

Preparation is key to secure the necessary 6 points to win the title! However with only 6 of the team realizing it was a 12.30pm start (No Mikey, no one reads the team alerts or fixture cards), the square looking like a lush meadow, the track needing trimming and no rolling completed in the week, the Parish entered the biggest ever game grossly under prepared.

Skip lost the toss and guess what we were given first hit. Ebay and Levers opened slowly and cautiously just as required. 12 overs in both went with the score on 26 bringing Amit and The Chairman to the crease. Amit "I need to push the field back" Chakrawarti hit two 4's then picked out the only fielder on the legside to succumb for 8.The Chairman nicked off for 1 increasing his average when he doesn't open to 0.333. 37-4. At the wicket was Dank & Minty but their recovery partnership was short lived as Dank courtesy of a side strain was retired hurt. Chris was joined by AJ who showed all earlier batsman the craft of the forward defensive.

Chris offering chances was finally caught for 14. To the wicket came Itty "I need a solid innings from you" Haque, first ball 6, second ball out. A strike rate of 300!! but the Parish were slumped to 61-6. Andy batted well for 15 until the oppo umpire gave him out LBW. Mikey & Shakey at the wicket with just two unfit Knight's to come. Mikey's 2 from 32 ate up some time unlike Shakey nick behind second ball duck. 79-9 with Dank with Minty running and Jerry at 11. 6 overs of bedlam, shouting, running to the wrong end and a few good shots. Dank last man out for 21 and Jerry unbeaten on 3. The above is just the precise of the innings! #preparation

Aldenham 97 all out (No Batting Points)

After an early sandwich fest tea the Parish took to the Field shell shocked after the previous 3 hours events and still requiring 6 points. Amit and Shakey steamed in but no early wicket just a few fours, byes and No Balls.

Shakey struck in the 6th over 24-1 and then Amit cleaned out the number 3. 32-2, still at least 3 wickets required. Shakey struck again before running out of steam, Ickleford 48-4! Time for the Skip to turn to Mikey "The Walrus" Ward. Mikey was hit for a few before floating one up that was taken running in by Amit 66-5! With Shakey''s last over in full flow a nick down the legside was taken by Itty. The batsman walked, the Umpire wasn't going to give it 82-6! We had our 6 points! Scenes!

Minty replaced Shakey and the game gently run its course. Ickleford gaining the win to stave off relegation and the celebrations could begin! Team Photo!!!!!
