The A’s turned up to the home of cricket, after a surprising decision to play following a live pitch inspection conducted by the Skipper. Despite the continuous negativity of Jerry Knight with constant referrals to the weather forecast, the Toss went ahead with Aldenham being placed in the field by the Waferers.

Dan Morgan started the attack from down the hill and Dan Knight from his newly preferred end; with Morgan striking with his second ball. Both bowlers bowled tidily with Morgan having the larger success with figures of 4-1-20-3; whilst Knight was reminded that good bowling does not take wickets with figures of 4-0-14-0. Next into the attack was Jemile and the Dickster. Although Jemile was wearing Jerry’s spikes, his bowling had no link to Jerry as the bowl fizzed down the track with the batsmen continuously swinging and missing, granting him with figures of 4-4-0-1 from his first spell. Whilst at the other end Dicky showed his experience, making the ball turn sideways as he took 2 for 28 off 7. After the 1st change bowlers Harrow were struggling for around 50 for 5; which led to the entrance of the net bowler, Robin Russell, greeted with Pete Munroe asking me “Is this a joke?”. The Rustler, unlike last years’ debacle, put the dreaded yips aside and bowled a tidy spell which consisted of just one double bouncer, however failed to make a breakthrough with figures of 4-0-24-0. Following on from the Rustler was Lee, who caught S444CHO by surprise as one took off removing the keepers helmet. Once again Lee showed what winter nets can achieve with a tidy spell of figures: 4-0-20-0. Watfa, Barot and Chris Munroe were the selected "up the hill" bowlers with figures of 4-0-33-0, 3-0-18-0, 2-0-7-1 respectively. The innings was ended with the return of Jemile who was carted to the boundary by a 12-year-old, finishing with figures of 8-4-15-2.

The tea break was a delight, with a great variety on offer from chicken tikka wraps to a wonderful Swiss roll, which had the perfect balance of cream and Jam.

The Aldenham innings was started by the two players who did not get a bowl, Itty and S444CHO. Itty’s usual see ball hit ball technique was put aside after his long discussion with Pete Munroe during the break; however, this had placed Slaqqy into an indecisive mind-set which led to him guiding the first ball of the innings to first slip, 10 pounds please. This brought Karan to the crease who put on a decent partnership with Sach before he was removed for 17. In then came the man with arguably the best bat in the club, Minty, however much like the previous owner he was unable to use the bat to its full potential as he was bowled for 2, blaming Karan as in the previous over, Karan placed the spinner into the nearby garden, so a spare ball was called for leading to the opening bowler producing his first in-swinging delivery. Dan Knight then entered, and put on a large partnership with Barot, however was unable to produce any sort of entertainment as he constructed a turgid 19. Whereas Karan was feasting into the attack with all sorts of shots including the reverse sweep, Barot then fell for 90; due to tiredness. Bringing Watfa and the Pirate to the middle who were easily dispatching the bowling, gaining a massive win for the A’s with them scoring 34* and 7* respectively.
