Match report On the hottest day of the year so far in one of the most beautiful set ups, ACC's league team turned up at Coopers for a friendly. Sacho had forgotten his spikes and Karan forgot his trousers. Chewy had one solution for both of them in the back of his car '2 pairs of Wellies' - thankfully they weren't required in the end thanks to other kind team mates.

ACC's confidence was sky high after a massive league win and Sunday skipper 'Do you know who my dad is' Munroe lost the toss and ACC were in batting first. 35 overs a side - Coopers only had 10 players to begin with so Wardy volunteered to field for them until Miss Charlotte turned up... but as soon as Charlotte arrived Wardy was immediately replaced for obvious reasons. Simon and Sacho started the proceedings with Sacho off the mark with a 6 but then eventually got bowled for 9 to a ball moving away from him.
Simon, twice marathon runner and has even climbed Kilimanjaro was pumped up to bat for long in the heat with K Barot.
Barot made sure he had a decent partnership with Simon by keeping 90% of the strike. After a few ambitious singles the heat eventually got to Simon who was caught at mid off for 7 off 34. In came L Burrows who started well and stayed in watching Karan cutting and carving the ball like a chef until he was caught on 46 at Mid on one handed by a Freedom pass holder.

L burrows was eventually run out for a good 17 with ACC now 116 for 4 with 16 extras, it was now down to a partnership between Chris M and Tanios. Both batted well for a while punishing anything that was tossed up. Tanios 50 not out Chris M 44 not out

Fantastic Tea as always in Coopers cafe (if you can find it) where all the finger sandwiches are kept in temperatures below 8 degrees for H&S reasons.

ACC were eager to secure this win after tea and started with Chris H and Charlie Munroe. Both had good spells and secured one Wicket each with Chewit feeling as though the pitch was slightly longer than normal. Maybe just from his end? It was all getting too easy for ACC's league bowlers and wickets kept on falling with one to Wardy, Chris M got the wicket of 'one shot Dave' and two wickets for Dan Knight. Cooper were 80 for 6 and the boys were constantly reminded by umpire of the day J Knight that penalty for slow over rate would mean No shower. Charlie got his second wicket by now had given the Nod for one over each to Tanios, Karan and Sacho. Karan got their number 8 out and Miss Charlotte was bowled by 'I always get the women' Sanghvi.

Coopers -120 for 9 off 35 overs.


Massive ACC win which bought a smile on the face of OMOA too but that smile quickly went away when he was charged £16 for two beers and a glass of wine in their posh bar.
