Match report Aldenham arrived at Queens school knowing that a win against West Herts IVs would mean they regained their rightful place at the top of the division.

Having lost the toss and been asked to bowl, Nick Hale led his troops out onto a slow outfield that was in dire need of a trim.

The opening bowlers, Amit and Char, kept it remarkably tight and deserved to pick up early wickets. There was a distinct lack of intent from the openers who crept to 47-0 at drinks. After the drinks break wickets fell more regularly with Amit (8-3-9-3) being the most potent bowler. Aldenham restricted West Herts to an attainable 98 which was probably worth about 120 due to the outfield.

Daniel Wells and The Chairman started well with the bat despite the chairman being hit just below his left nipple by a ferocious beamer from West Hert’s quickest bowler. A fairly lackadaisical Aldenham batting effort meant we finished 5 down but the result was never really in doubt.

An early finish allowed plenty of drinking time at the Social club as the lads geared up for a big Saturday night watching Scam 69.
