Match report The invention of Social Media has finally arrived at The Parish with the first Parishoner selected to play courtesy of Twitter, Simon Dean. With great anticipation everyone arrived at the ground ready to greet our Social Media find. Simon didn't appear today, he had tweeted our Team Selector to advise that he wasn't fit to play. Unfortunately our Team Selector doesn't pick up his tweets and therefore we were reduced to 10!

The Full Tossers arrived with a full 11 which included two young ladies. They duly won the toss and asked us to bat. Simon and Itty opened the batting and both threw the bat from the off. The Chairman perished for 8 and Itty hit some lusty blows for his 34. One blow required Barry the Umpire to retrieve the ball from the back gardens beyond the trees. In at 3 & 4 was "Homes under the Hammer" & Tanios (Watched for the first time by his folks).

After a very slow 10 overs ( Jerry don't they realise we have our best batsmen in the hutch?), both finally opened up. HUTH went for a well negotiated 38, which bought Greg to the wicket. He couldn't muster another ton and went cheaply for 12. This did include a six that was able to put another dent in the Haquemobile! Tanios top scored with 85* well supported by Chris "Rip & Dip" Munroe 41*

ACC 246 for 4

HUTH excelled with undoubtedly with his best ever tea. Though he did learn that if ever you require a lift to the home of Cricket you don't put your request on the Watsapp group!

Char & Barry "The food is good at Oundle" Letts opened the bowling. Both spells were very good but only Char was rewarded when the Full Tossers opener walked across his stumps. At 60 for 1, Char threw the ball to Jerry with plenty of runs to play with. Jerry removed the other opener courtesy of a smart stumping from Itty and batsman 4 thanks to a smart slip catch from Tanios.

Dicky "10:01" Doughty replaced Char and bowled a tidy 8 over spell with no luck and with 20 overs remaining Full Tossers were still in the game. Char turned to Gay Lad - Rip & Dip , plenty of action from our new premier spinner but no luck. Three edges through first slip went unrewarded. Char's reluctance to put in a slip was apparently due to the fact he was still waiting for Slip Specialist - Simon Dean.

With 5 overs remaining, Full Tossers required just 48 to win. They were thwarted by a fantastic catch by HUTM and that was followed by another catch by Barry on the boundary which meant it was time to shut up shop.
