Aldenham Cricket Club v Little Gaddesden on Sat 05 Sep 2015 at 1300
Aldenham Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report An early 1pm start today however at that time only 9 Parishonners were present as Chewy was still on route from Brighton and Kuzza "Tea in a Suitcase" Barot was delayed at Greggs Wembley. No opposition were also present at this time as start time confusion was worsened by the Hare Khrishna Festival in Letchmore Heath.

When the Opposition did turn up they arrived in a selection of Mercedes & Audi's that looked set to replace debutant's Matt Ridley's camper van at Wansford. Char lost the toss and surprisingly Little Gaddesden chose to bat. The Opening bat who scored a ton against last year received an unplayable first ball from Char to receive the fateful diamond duck. A wicket should have followed in his next over but a customary Sen arm waving attempt ended unsuccessful. From then on what followed was Aldenham's best performance in the field this season.

Both Char and Sen bowled their best spells of the season against one of the best Saturday Opponents of the season. 4 wickets for Char and 3 for Sen. They were backed up with two catches from Kuzza , two from Jerry and a tidy slip catch from Dan K.

With Little Gaddesden on the ropes at 60 for 7 , Char threw the ball to Guinness drinking Matt Ridley. After running up 3 times on the adjacent track Matt delivered his first ever delivery. The leg side wide was slapped towards the region of square leg where Dan Morgan plucked the ball out of the sky one handed ........ Wild delirium followed. When the mayhem finished Char's next pick was average topping Rustler. With the hope that some treatment would occur Robin bowled a straight one and the final wicket fell.

Little Gaddesden 98 all out
An early Greggs tea was taken before Simon and Lee started the reply. Only 99 to win but everyone remembers Luton Royals!! Both batted at a pace that ensured no beer match would be on the horizon. Simon was bowled for 10 which bought Chris "First Ton" Hewett to the wicket. Chewy had obviously paid the left arm bowler who fed him consistent juicy full tosses for him to put away.

After being roughed up by the young fast bowler at the other end, Chewy edged one on to his stumps and was bowled for 16. Dan Morgan fresh from another week of persuading guys to either play Cricket or do their second tea of the season, came to the wicket to join Lee. From that point on both batted without looking like getting out. Dan hit two huge sixes to ease his own communication frustrations. Dan finished unbeaten on 37 and Lee on 26.

A great Aldenham performance against a good and wealthy looking Little Gaddesden side. Bring on Frogmore tomorrow!!
