Match report A career best bowling performance from Tim Hale brought another victory for ACC on a day that shouldn't have happened. A horrific forecast meant the players on both teams were expecting a prolonged performance in the bar rather than on the beautifully prepared wicket at ACC.
An aggressive mid wicket battering from Sachin Sanghvi got the hosts off to a good start however 3 quick wickets including a Michael Glover GD. A controversial LBW decision brought an end to a brief innings of Matt Bazeley thanks to son James but very thankful was Karan Barot (specialist number 6) who provided some lusty blows watched by the only gay in the village holding up the other end. Unsurprisingly, Mr Barot still fuming about his batting number decided to take his anger out on the outside edge of his bat snicking 1 behind and it didn't help the team when patient Chris Munroe missed a straight ball resulting a 96-6 scorecard. Thank goodness for lower order batsmen Tanios Watfa and Char Munroe putting on 65 rescuing the team both reaching half centuries and helping ACC to a 221 respectable total.
An overcast afternoon made the tea break shorten in time and was looking like a poor decision after opening bowlers Charlie Munroe and Micheal Ward taking a bit of a battering and the later taking it in his own unique way. Fortunatley, first change bowlers James Bazeley and Tim Hale lit Church Lane up with some match winning bowling spells, ripping Washington's middle order to shreds and won the game in some very dark conditions with a little help from Karan 'bowling all rounder' Barot picking up the final wicket.
