Match report On what has become a regular occurance, the A's turned up to a sweltering afternoon for another afternoon to play some quality cricket on an absolute road that the hard working, fantastically committed and damn right amazing people had prepared for the parish.
Yet again, skipper for the day Char Munroe lost the toss and not surprisingly were summoned to the field with conditions favouring the batting side due to the sub 30 degree temperature. The A's looking to keep the ball dry for the reverse swing later on in the Rivets innings was some what hampered by the ever growing sweaty palms of all fielders but thanks to a triple wicket maiden from 1st time opener James Bazeley helps dry the runs up!!! The now 'economic' bowler at the other end Char Munroe held up an end to support the financial growing pockets of James Bazeley destroying the top order of Rivets.
DJ Dickie D was spinning his way to a cheeky 1fer on a deck not offering a lot to the bowlers but newly found impersonator Karan 'Robert Hafeez Croft' Barot managed to feed a couple of rabbits by mixing up some rank half trackers picking up 3 vickets in 2 overs.
The ever reliable openers of Letts and Burrows set off with a patient start accumulating 45 for the first partnership to set up a mamouth assault from Danny 'only turn up for tea and bat a bit' Morgan to smash an unbeaten 60 not out which did include a shocking decision to run out the clubs president! An embarrassing innings from our impersonator (obviously modelling todays innings on Itty haque technique) skying his missed time thwak to Long on which produced a now very happy Tanios Watfa to finish the innings with 17 overs to go.
