We are approaching that time of the year where we get to put away our poorly utilised pieces of expensive firewood, stop worrying whether the sun will shine at the weekend, find time for other pursuits and may even engage in the odd non-cricket related conversation with the wife!
Yes Gentlemen (and ladies, I hear you sigh with some relief) the end of the season is fast approaching…………but don’t worry. It’s only 233 days until Saturday 29th April 2017!
But before we all start being interested in football, waiting to see who wins Strictly and wondering what Simon Cowell will engineer into being the Christmas No1 this year there are a few important issues to get through.
End of Season Works Party – Sat 8th Oct. 1000hrs.
The annual opportunity to do some Loaming, dusting and cleaning as we put the Pavilion and Wicket to bed for the Winter. So please come and join Mr Vintage Whitehead for this, once a season, opportunity and make yourselves available – you’ve played the cricket so now come and do your bit. This really is a “the more the merrier” event.
The Aldenham Cricket Club Annual Awards Dinner – Sat 15th Oct. 1930hrs.
To be hosted this year at Radlett Cricket Club. Mrs Jo Letts and Mrs Jane Munroe have been at the fore of the team very kindly organizing our annual extravaganza.
Come on down for a sumptuous meal, listen to the Chairman’s summation of what has been a momentous cricketing year for Aldenham CC (don’t tell everyone, but I hear we may have won something!!!), reel in laughter at the comedy of the Captains’ speeches, gawp in amazement at the distribution of priceless awards to deserving winners (who has edged their way to the “duck cup”??) and who is not already looking forward to the annual return of the “In and Out Game”.
I know, you can hardly control your excitement!
The dinner will be £30 a head. Exact payment details and how to book a seat for you and a loved one, friend or family will be circulated in the next week or so but please start saving up now.
Clearing Outstanding Debtors
As ever there are one or two who have allowed their “owes” to creep up. Before you disappear into whatever winter hole you be spend the next 233 days please ensure you clear all your debts with the Treasurer (Vintage)
